我偶然地读了这本书。

一本故事书，政治书，哲学书。一本1948年写得的书。难道，中国的文化大革命就是原封不动地照着这上面的政治思想来发动的吗？

看完这本书，就明白了集权统治的核心思想。也很迷惑：尽管人类的文明一直在进步，为什么集权统治一直存在，书中那些荒谬的事情“2+2=5”仍然会发生?

I’ve never expected that I would read a political novel.

The book is enlightening, telling the importance of free thinking and the nightmare of Oligarchical Collectivism.

Besides the stunning story, the appendix “the Principles of Newspeak” is also absorbing! I understand the tremendous power of language!
